My narrative showed empathy by... People telling the main character to show empathy.

The thing I enjoyed most about this learning was…Writing the story.

Art Attack Blog, Week 5, term 3

WHAT?

For art attack my goal was to produce a piece of art related to our local landscape using either paint, water colour or pastel.

With Mrs Marsh I learned about foreground, midground and background in landscapes.

With Mr Forman I learned about colour and complementary colours.

With Mr Rule I looked at the different landscape features of Canterbury and Banks Peninsula.

SO WHAT?

• In my art I inclueded trees,flax,clouds,sky,water & a sign
• For the water colour I used wet on dry.
• I enjoyed water colour.
• Iwas proud of my picture in the end.
•

My learning Goals for Term 3

What?

I have been identifying my literacy goals for the start of term 3

My reading teacher is Mrs Marsh

My writing teacher is Mr Forman

So What?

My handwriting goal is to link letters consistently.

My spelling goal is to complete list.

My writing goal is to write about a moment in time using a picture prompt

                                use a variety of simple, compound and complex sentences

                                use a variety of verbs and adjectives to make my writing more interesting, and

                                precise nouns

My reading goal is:
to understand what the author has written in a paragraph to help us make a sensible prediction what will happen in the next paragraph. 

My blog goals are  to  add more detail to my blog posts

                            to proofread and edit my blog post before publishing

                            to use a variety of ways to show my learning (text, photos/images, video)

                            to complete all the set blogs for this term

                            to do a ‘Can Do’ blog about an achievement, some other learning or something I am proud of

Reading

My Reading goal is to get all of my SML activites done and to read the books with the teaching group.

I have learnt that reading is a bit harder then I thought it would be.

My  next step is to get all of my smls done and my reading and plays done.

My term three maths

WALT:  multiply by 10,100 and 1000.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             I learned to get 30 you put in the 3 first and then add the 0.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Here is an example of my learning: 3x10=    (3x10)=30                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Next time I will try harder to do higher numbers.

My Butterfly Mosaic

WALT:  To create a mosaic picture using pastel and Indian ink                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            I learned...That I need to draw my picture with chalk, colour in pastel and Indian ink. I used the pastel to cover all the white.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Next time I will... Draw my picture better with nicer colors and more shades in the background.                                                                                                                                                                                                  

ANZAC Writing

WALT retell the events of ANZAC day.
I learned that World War 1 started in 1914.
I achieved my goal because I put in more interesting words.
Next time I will make my story longer.
Here are some of my best sentences:
The New Zealanders team were the kiwis and the Australians were the diggers.

Cross country

We are learning to run 1.5k for cross country.

I learnt to run further so that I could run better for the cross country.

I completed my goal because I ran 6 laps around the school field.

I need to work on getting in the middle so it is easier.

T4 Maths- Multiplication

WALT: use maths equipment to show what a multiplication (times) equation looks like

Signs of Success
*I can say that x (times) means GROUPS OF or LOTS OF
*I can say how many lots of there are
*My equipment shows the correct number of groups
*I can skip count on the equipment to solve the problem
*I know that 3x5 looks different to 5x3 with equipment

"My counters show 6 groups of 2 counters (6x2)".

WALT : accurately draw the shape of a bird, paint the bird using the correct colours, create a realistic background

WALT: Write a made up story using many adjectives to make it more interesting for the reader.

Success Criteria: That the reader enjoys the story and provides feedback to me on how I can make improvements.

WALT: To write instructions that are easy for the reader to follow.

SUCCESS CRITERIA: I will know that I have achieved this WALT when people can play the game Golden Runner correctly following my instructions.

T4 Reading

WALT: Work out hard words in reading

Signs of Success:

*Look for chunks in the word that I know

*stretch out the sounds like bubble gum

*think about what would make sense there and start like that word

*make the beginning sound

"I am getting better at pronouncing the words right".

When you sprint, you push your arms so that you go fast.
